Yumi-Geiko is a Japanese bow shooting simulation that utilizes touch controls for operation.

Basic Gameplay Mechanics

• To play, press and hold anywhere on the screen to begin drawing the bow with the archer. Release the touch once maximum draw strength is achieved to shoot an arrow.
• The drawing and releasing actions synchronize with finger movements; the slight slide just before release influences horizontal aiming precision.
• The game features three target distances: near, middle, and far. Achievements include hitting specific targets, consecutive hits, and other challenges that, when completed, unlock incremental enhancements to the bow’s and archer’s strength.

Operational procedure involves touching the screen to hold the bow in a drawn state, waiting for optimal tension, then releasing to fire. During this process, lateral arm movement can be manipulated by finger sliding, affecting shot accuracy.

Target types correspond to different distances—close, mid-range, and far—each presenting unique challenges. The achievement system encourages players to aim for varying targets and accomplish consecutive hits, thereby gradually upgrading the physical capabilities of both bow and arm, facilitating easier targeting at greater distances.

Customization Options

1. The options menu allows adjustments to bow settings and control sensitivities. These modifiers influence both tactile feel and accuracy during play.
2. Particularly recommended are modifications to 'Bow weight' and 'Raw Input', as these significantly impact handling and performance.

Analytical Scoring

• The system records performance metrics after each shot, providing statistical insights. These statistics can be reset when switching targets or used to track overall progress.

Aiming Techniques

• Vertical aiming is governed by arm positioning; horizontal aiming relies on a technique called 'Tsunomi'. In traditional Japanese archery, the arrow rests on the right side of the bow and is propelled outward toward the right. Proper application of 'Tsunomi' involves pressing on the right side of the bow, causing it to rotate during arrow acceleration, which results in a straight flight—this rotation is known as 'Yugaeri'.
• The effect of 'Tsunomi' and 'Yugaeri' on horizontal aiming depends on the force applied to the left elbow joint just before releasing an arrow. The game provides a slider in options to adjust how strongly these effects are applied based on elbow tension; higher values allow for effective aiming adjustments even with less elbow strength.
